Ethos
We're a community dance event organised by queers, for queers.
We aim to:
We aim to:
- Provide local LGBTQIA+ folk and allies with a space to dance and connect in a non-judgemental atmosphere.
- Promote a diverse range of artists from Manchester and across the UK, each chosen for their musical dexterity
and contribution to the underground scene. - Always be for charity and never for profit. 100% of any surplus funds from ticket sales will always be donated
to an LGBTQIA+ charity.
Safer space policy
We want everyone that comes to our party to feel safe and free to enjoy themselves. Although no space is ever
truly safe, we want to make sure our attendees can express themselves without consequence. All ticket holders to
our events must agree to follow the below:
truly safe, we want to make sure our attendees can express themselves without consequence. All ticket holders to
our events must agree to follow the below:
- BENT and the DBA will not tolerate any form of harassment. Homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, ageism or
prejudice based on ethnicity, gender presentation, sexuality, class, language ability, asylum status, or
religious affiliation will result in immediate removal from the venue. - Be aware of your privileges before entering the venue. This is a space that prioritises minorities and their
safety, so if you are in a position of privilege be mindful that you are in a space that celebrates this level
of inclusion. - Try not to make assumptions about people’s identity or pronouns. Use they/them or politely ask if you’re unsure.
- Please drink and party responsibly. Anybody putting the safety of others or themselves at risk will be asked to
leave. This includes respecting the personal space and boundaries of others.
